Miles, Smiles & Some Famous Faces: Dave Takes on the Great North Run Representing NHP

Miles, Smiles & Some Famous Faces: Dave Takes on the Great North Run Representing NHP

Posted 14th September 2026

We’re delighted to celebrate Dave Reynolds from Reconomy, one of NHP’s valued charity partners and one of the key founders of the Reconomy Runners staff group who regularly fundraise for NHP. While the Great North Run wasn’t an official Reconomy Runners event (Dave secured his place personally through the public ballot) that didn’t stop him from proudly representing NHP on the course wearing one of our charity t-shirts.

The run was a challenging one for Dave, with warmer-than-expected conditions and a knee injury having disrupted his training in the build-up to the race. Despite this, he made it safely around the course and had an enjoyable race.

It wasn’t just the running that made the day memorable. Dave had some celebrity encounters along the way, including football and broadcasting legend Chris Kamara, The Traitors winner Rachel Duffy and fitness coach Joe Wicks. The Prime Minister even made an appearance in one of Dave’s photos! For Dave, the run was also a chance to showcase NHP and shine a light on the charity’s work as part of Reconomy’s ongoing partnership with us.

The Reconomy Runners group has already raised an incredible £1600 for NHP this year, with their final planned event, the Great South Run, taking place next month. We’re looking forward to seeing what the team can achieve as they continue their fundraising efforts.

As one of the people instrumental in establishing Reconomy Runners, Dave has played an important role in bringing colleagues together through running and fundraising. We’re incredibly grateful that, even when taking on a personal challenge outside of the official Reconomy Runners events, he chose to represent NHP along the way.

Congratulations, Dave, on completing the Great North Run – and thank you for proudly representing NHP!
